Next week, September 29, David B. Saakian will give a presentation on his work on the problem of the origin of life. David Saakian is from Department of Theoretical Physics, Yerevan Physics Institute. He also spends significant time at Laboratory of Statistical and Computational Physics (LSCP) at the Institute of Physics (IOP) of Academia Sinica, located in Nankang, Taipei, Taiwan. Much of his work is devoted to application of the methods of statistical physics to the mathematical models of the origin of life, how it was first formulated by Manfred Eigen. In particular, he gives exact solutions for some of Eigen’s model with quite general fitness landscape.
